Headquartered in New York City; Lindblad Expeditions was founded by Lars-Eric Lindblad and the first tourist expedition happened in 1966 to Antarctica. Lindblad Expeditions' partnership with National Geographic Society in the year 2004 brought traveler's with passions for adventure, exploration, and conservation together onboard. The combined entity offers over 100 expedition cruises around the world and in more than 70 countries.

In 2004, the collaboration with National Geographic offered guests wholly unique experiences, including immersive programs for photographers and young explorers.
