Overview

It’s one of the most fascinating Northern Europe cruises taking you to great adventurous European destinations such as Denmark, Norway, and Germany. The guests get on board the magnificent Costa Diadema with the luxurious Costa Cruises for a magical 8-day cruise.

This one-in-a-million itinerary provides an unusual yet truly wonderful blend of beautiful Scandinavian cities and majestic natural wonders of the famous Norwegian fjords, with a smear of maritime charm from Germany. Beginning the cruise from the Danish capital of Copenhagen, the guests later proceed to amazing town of Hellesylt in Norway. The cruise then moves to the colourful destination ports of Bergen & Stavanger and closes down at the quaint German city of Kiel.

Itinerary

It’s day one, and your adventure begins from the embarkation port of Copenhagen. Guests will be permitted to board the Costa Diadema, and they’ve to do the necessary paperwork and complete their boarding before 6:00 PM.

The cruise will arrive in the Baltic Sea and it’s a new Sea destination added to your immersive itinerary. All lights on the board go out and the Captain of the ship explains the phenomena happening in the sky. Costa Diadema halts at 12:01 AM and stays in the Baltic Sea till 12:30 AM.

It's day two, and the guests will get an opportunity to stay on the deck and engage themselves with some interesting activities organised by Costa Cruises. Relax while you're staying over the Baltic Sea and prepare for your next adventure! The guests can plan to chill by the refreshing swimming pool all day or soak in some spa treatment. Relish the exquisite cuisine in any one of the most popular Costa restaurants located onboard. Some of the guests can even test their luck in the unique onboard venues.

It’s the third day of the Northern European Cruise, and we reach the port of Hellesylt in Norway at 8:30 AM. One of the most audacious destinations of Norway, it's famous for its magnificent fjords and wildlife. The guests can go for famous waterfalls, Briksdal Glacier Walk, and hike across the Flo mountains when in Hellesylt.

Later, the guests can go for exploring the Geiranger Fjord either by kayaking or by a hike. They can visit the Fjord Center Museum that explains the complete story of Geiranger Fjord. Costa Diadema halts at 10:00 AM and stays in the Geiranger Fjord till 11:00 AM. It will depart the town of Geiranger at 7:30 PM.

It’s day four, and our Northern European Cruise will reach the port of Bergen. Seven mountains surround this serene township and boast of picturesque scenery and ample hiking opportunities. One may hike up Mount Floien and then head on to Lake Skomakerdiket to relish in its beautiful views. Travellers can visit Bergen's important landmarks, such as King Haakon's Hall and Rosenkrantz Tower, which were built after the 12th century.

Incorporated into the itinerary is an activity wherein guests will experience meditation to reconnect with nature in total tranquility, following the Norwegian philosophy of Friluftsliv.

On day five, the Costa Diadema will reach the township of Stavanger and guests can skirt the port by coach. Drive along the rocky mountain road and be enchanted by small lakes surrounded by captivating views. Hop on to the walking tour and reach Preikestolen or "pulpit" rock, which is a flat rock standing 604 metres above sea level overlooking Lysefjord.

On day seven, we reach the port of Kiel in Germany and guests can also explore the historic town of Laboe. They can begin the panoramic tour of Kiel by visiting the City Hall and the spectacular Kiel Canal. Board the coach and reach the eastern shore of Kiel Fjord to the town of Kiel Canal, it links the North Sea to the Baltic Sea. Visit the Sailors Memorial in Laboe and check out the interesting exhibition going on inside the monument.

It’s the final day of the Northern European Cruise and we reach the disembarking port of Copenhagen in Denmark. Guests on board can take the sightseeing tour of Copenhagen by visiting important attractions located in different parts of the city. Beginning from the Little Mermaid Statue, City Hall, and moving on to Christiansborg Palace, all of these are part of our Charming Copenhagen Sightseeing Tour.
